Malmö University was founded in 1998 and is today Sweden’s eighth largest university of undergraduate studies. Located in the centre of Malmö in the very south of Sweden, the university has played a central role in the transformation of Malmö from industrial town to centre of learning.
In 2006 a new mission statement was passed for the University. Our vision is to be one of Europe’s leading universities for professional education in 2015. One of the four cornerstones of our mission statement is ‘Internationalisation for all’. It reads: “Malmö University has a research and teaching culture that considers global dimensions and values knowledge for its contribution to human welfare. We work tirelessly to develop Internationalisation at Home, increased international mobility and international relations, in order to provide students and staff with competences and skills that have local and global support. The objectives are that all have multicultural competence, all are global citizens, and the education is internationally negotiable.”
